A Romantic Villa
Rich in History |
| "Offering exceptional comfort and service" |
| ~ The New York Times |
Overlooking Seneca Lake in Geneva, New York, Geneva On The Lake was built in 1914 as a private home. Modeled after Villa Lancellotti in Frascati, Italy, its interior includes Italian marble fireplaces, wall tapestries, Ionic columns and wood-coffered ceilings. The villa later became a monastery, and then, in 1981, an elegant small resort.
| “Geneva on the Lake is an oasis, a little island of beauty, peace, and friendliness in a busy world.” |
| Norbert H. Schickel, Jr., Founder |
Formal gardens, pool and Seneca Lake beyond
| “The stunning four-diamond Geneva On The Lake, has a garden reminiscent of Versailles.” |
| ~ Wall Street Journal |
“This is a resort that echoes with the tranquility of a different place and time, of a leisurely European lifestyle that revels in and showcases the finer things of life…The resort is ideal for a romantic getaway, whether winter or summer.”
~ The Ottawa Citizen |
“We stayed at the majestic Geneva On The Lake hotel…
classical sculptures give an air of antiquity, but the solicitous
service is as American as a Cortland Apple.”
~ Gourmet |
From the boathouse, Seneca Lake and the Erie Canal System
connect you to the oceans of the world. A variety of boats may
be rented at the dock and moorings are also available. The 70 foot pool is surrounded by columns topped with Borghese-style
