A Personal Note:

 

My wife and I can attest to the utter beauty of Geneva On The Lake for a special family occasion.  On a beautiful afternoon evening in early September we celebrated our daughter’s marriage to a wonderful young man.  As you read on you will see that with 185 guests we stretched the numbers limit a bit.  What a glorious time though!

 

With our great staff’s skill and capable help I am sure we can help make your anticipated gathering very special and rich in memory.

 

As I think of you perhaps being here the thought of  St. John Chrysostom comes to mind “where love rejoices, there is festivity”.

Amidst an ambiance of Italian Renaissance architecture, classical sculptures and Stickley furnishings, guests from around the world enjoy Finger Lakes wedding receptions, family reunions and special celebrations.  Geneva On The Lake provides the gourmet cuisine, personal service, friendly hospitality and the coordination needed to make such occasions a joy for you as the host and a pleasure for all of your guests.

 

Indoor Year-Round the facilities may accommodate about 20 to 50 people depending on your particular needs and the room reserved.  

Outdoors In-Summer the South Lawn Tent Pavilion accommodates up to 160 people from May 15th to September 15th.

AL FRESCO COCKTAIL RECEPTION

BEFORE DINNER

The Furnished Terrace with Colonnade Pavilion overlooking the formal gardens, pool and Seneca Lake offers an elegant setting to begin your celebration. 

 

Beneath The Tall Pines in the South Lawn adjacent to the formal gardens, this shady spot provides a sweeping view of Seneca Lake, the villa and formal gardens.

AN ELEGANT RECEPTION DINNER

 

The South Lawn Tent Pavilion – Wedding Receptions, Dinners, Anniversaries & Reunions and parties of as many as 160 are held in this beautiful outdoor location.  Beautiful flowers, the magnificent lake view, gardens, fountain and towering shade trees create an elegant setting for these special occasions.  A festive white 3-peak party tent is your shelter from the elements.  It is placed on a paved surface with an inlayed decorative pattern in brick.  Transparent side walls are available as needed.  Candlelight, as well as floor lamps and plants create a romantic mood for your late afternoon, early evening celebration.  There is a wood parquet floor for dancing.  Stand-by heating is provided should the day call for such.   Ceiling and floor fans are used to provide air circulation in warm weather. 

 

INTIMATE PRIVATE DINING YEAR-ROUND

 

The Lancellotti Dining Room  -  There is seating for 30 to 50 in this elegant setting .  The Lancellotti Dining Room offers the European grandeur of the original main room of the villa.  This room is in the center of the villa with French doors overlooking the formal gardens and Seneca Lake.  The hand-stenciled coffered ceiling, plus the marble columns and an elaborately carved mantelpiece create a magnificent backdrop for the delicious cuisine, music and candlelight.  This room may be reserved from 2-5 pm for a reception or special dinner. 

 

The Leonardo da Vinci Suite  -  The hand carved wood-burning marble fireplace and coffered ceiling makes this room ideal for serving dinner for 13 to 30 guests or a wedding ceremony of no more than 50.

The Parlor – Offers an elegant living room setting with a picture window view of the gardens and Seneca Lake.  The Parlor can comfortably seat 15 for dinner or accommodate 25 for a cocktail reception.  The Parlor has hardwood flooring and oriental rugs.  The plush sofas, wing back chairs, chandelier, marble columns and arched cathedral ceiling lend a romantic old-world air to an intimate room that was once the south porcochere of the mansion. 

 

The Library – This handsome room was the Nester Family’s Library and was retained as such by the Capuchin monks.  The Library features black walnut bookshelves and paneling, a coffered ceiling, terrazzo floor and a marble wood-burning fireplace.  This room is ideal for private dinners of 7-12 guests or a cocktail reception for 15.    

 

OUTDOOR LOCATIONS OFFERED FOR

MARRIAGE CEREMONY

The Semi-Circle At The Bluff – is a semi-circular walk lined on one side with pedestals naturally suited for flower arrangements and on the other side by the lawn for guests seating and space for a 65’ white aisle runner.  A breath-taking view of Seneca Lake is the backdrop for your marriage ceremony.

 

The Shrine – A rather secluded setting on the bluff overlooking Seneca Lake.   The shrine itself is a crucifix scene with life size statues, a pieta on the right side and an angel on the left.  These beautiful statues were placed on the grounds by the Capuchin Fathers during the time when Geneva On The Lake was a monastery.  The shrine has been carefully preserved.  A paved walk serves as a natural aisle for the bride’s entrance.

 

The Center Of The Formal Gardens – The center of the exquisite Italianate formal gardens, formed by privet, is available for small wedding ceremonies of up to 20 guests. 

 

Regarding Pictures:  For the bride and groom holding their wedding  reception at Geneva On The Lake the gardens and grounds offer many beautiful settings for pictures. For others, special permission from the General Manager is needed ahead, for any wedding party picture session on the grounds.

LUXURIOUS GUEST ACCOMMODATIONS

 

Geneva On The Lake offers a choice of 29 unique air-conditioned suites and studios. The suite or studio you choose will be unique and beautifully furnished with Stickley.  Each suite and studio offers a living room, dining area, full bath or bath and a half, and a ready kitchen.  Suites have one or two bedrooms.  Studios have a queen size bed, which may be folded down from the wall at anytime – and by housekeeping at turndown.  From most suites you can enjoy the sun rising over Seneca Lake and setting in the west, however, some views are obstructed by trees.  Some suites have a fireplace, furnished patio, or romantic balcony.

 

For Wedding Celebrations we ask that you reserve two

Suites:  one to accommodate the bride and the bridesmaids and the other suite for the groom and groomsmen. This will allow them a place to prepare and gather prior to the ceremony and reception.

 

Reserving a Block of Suites for Your Guests.  Often a bride & groom or family wishes to send a “save the date” announcement to allow guests ample time to reserve the date and accommodations for the planned occasion.  With a non-refundable group block deposit, which can later be applied to your master bill, Geneva On The Lake will hold a block of suites for an agreed upon time in order that your guests may call to reserve from the block.

SPECIAL ARRANGEMENTS TO SELECT

 

Wedding Cake  ~ Geneva On The Lake is happy to provide a wedding cake or groom’s cake for your celebration.  We request that you provide a picture of the cake you would like and that all your decisions regarding flavors and fillings be made 2 months ahead.  There will be a serving charge of $4.75 per guest for cakes not provided by Geneva On The Lake.

 

Music Arrangements  ~ Beautiful music by gifted performers have made weddings and special occasions at Geneva On The Lake especially festive. Because of the serene nature of Geneva On The Lake and in consideration of other guests, music must be live and acoustical (no DJ’s permitted) and may be played until 9:30pm. We ask that the contract for music played at the resort  be between Geneva On The Lake and the musicians.  Following are three outstanding bands who have played here in the past:  Johnny Russo’s “East Hill Classic Jazz Band” playing Swing/Broadway &Traditional  Jazz from the Golden Era of American Popular Song (available from Trio to Sextet), Maria Di Santis Band and Cindy Miller Band.

 

Aisle Runner ~ A 65’ white fabric runner is available for  $125.

 

Flowers  ~  Geneva On The Lake is happy to provide the centerpieces for your dining tables and can provide an estimated price after discussing the floral arrangements and flowers requested.  Geneva On The Lake provides the floor plants and trees inside the tent at no charge.

 

Table Linens  ~  White or Maize colored linens are included in the price of your event.  Many other colors, styles and fabrics can be ordered for your event and would be at an additional charge.

 

Tables  ~  Geneva On The Lake uses 4’, 5’ and 6’  round tables which  will seat  very comfortably 6, 8 and 10 guests respectively.  A  final  seating chart is needed 7 days before the event along with the pre-order and final guest count.

 

Chairs ~ We provide white wooden padded folding chairs. At additional charge Chavarie style chairs in gold or white  and also chair covers are available.

 

A Dance Floor of Wood Parquet ~ (15’ x 18’) is included at no charge.

 

A Speaker System can be provided for your toasts, speeches and other public address needs at no additional charge.

 

Limousine contacts are available upon request.  

 

Marriage Ceremony Rehearsal at Geneva On The Lake  ~ a rehearsal for larger marriage ceremonies usually take place in the late afternoon on the day prior to the wedding.  It is helpful to have present all participants in the ceremony, such as, the Bridal Party, Readers and Ushers.

Specialty Drink Served Butler Style: Apple Martini, Apricot Sour or Champagne add $4 per guest in conjunction with other cocktail service.

 

Refreshing Punches with Cocktail Reception:       Punch for Children  $35 per gallon;  Champagne Punch is $65 per gallon, Non-Alcoholic Harvard Punch  $50 per gallon.

 

Wine and Cheese Tasting  for One-Hour with 5 Finger Lakes Wines:   $27 per guest (with imported beer add $4.00 per guest)

 

Alcohol Free Reception: $9.00 per hour per guest

 

A Champagne Toast:  $7.00  per guest  using Glenora Wine Cellar’s Brut.

 

Geneva On The Lake’s Wine List offers carefully chosen wines from the Finger Lakes and around the world that you may select for your special occasion.  The cost is based upon use.

 

Cordial Table offered after dinner.   Price per drink varies with selection.  A tab is kept of the number of drinks served.

 

The bar may be open for up to 3 hours during your celebration and would usually be closed for an hour during dinner service (as wine would usually be served with meal).   We are not able to offer a cash bar.
